The 3x ‘Certified Diamond’ DJ duo who once defined an era had become EDM’s most hated hitmakers – a “dirty little secret” among fans. Columbia Records tapped Berdine for a fix. He leaned into the backlash, crafting a global campaign that “apologized” for their return, staged their “replacement” by lookalikes, and flooded the internet with self-aware meme fuel. The campaign reframed the band, leveled up their image, and made fandom guilt-free – earning 3 Clio Music Awards in 2024.
